Built in 1713, it is a memorial tower for the statue of Jizo Bodhisattva. The inscription is "From this on the right Iwatsuki Jionji Road, Shichiri to Iwatsuki" on the front, and on the left side, "From this on the left Senju Road, from Senju 2 and a half".
Jionji Temple is an ancient temple of the Tendai sect in Iwatsuki City, Saitama Prefecture, and is the 12th temple of Bando Sanjusankannon Sacred Ground. It is said that the foundation of Jikaku Daishi (Ennin) was founded in the early Heian period, and the Senju Kannon Bodhisattva is the principal image.
This signpost was built on Tsuji on the Iwatsuki Highway as a signpost for the road to Jionji (Jionji Road).
