Description

This model is of mining boots from the Dutch National Mining Museum in Heerlen, The Netherlands. The museum is located within the old mine shaft of the Oranje Nassau I. The objects displayed are donated items by former miners and miner families. Boots were an important piece of saftey equipment in mines. The work was muddy, hard, and dangerous, so having foot protection was critical. There are a few styles of mining boots. The boots for this model are rubber slip ons. The model itself had many difficulties during processing. The model uploaded is unfortuantely not a true representation of the physical object. However, it does provide a rough outline.
