Roman Silver Ring, Cucufate, Portugal
Description
Ring from roman villa of S. Cucufate, Alentejo, Portugal that is similar to Roman specimens found in contexts from the end of the 2nd century AD to the 4th century AD. It appears, in this case, to be associated with a post-Roman burial, possibly the result of reuse. The piece is a silver ring decorated with fine longitudinal line tha thas a set oval chalcedony stone, engraved with the figure of the goddess Minerva. This specimen presents 2.5 cm in diameter. Currently it is showcased in the permanent exhibition of the museum of S. Cucufate (Vila de Frades, Vidigueira). Catalog No. CUC. 83 XXIV 22. Processed and modeled in Reality Capture from 472 photos
