Medieval sculpture of the Holy Trinity (Evora)
Description
Medieval sculpture of the Holy Trinity, carved in stone and dated between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, from the convent of São Domingos de Évora. This sculpture represents the Holy Trinity, with God the Father, seated, who raises the crucified Christ with his hands, already dead. Both images are united by the representation of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove (Arte portugués, Vol. 4, p. 25). The sculpture still retains traces of polychromy. It is currently preserved in the Frei Manuel do Cenáculo National Museum (Évora, Portugal). Catalog No. ME1737.
