Description

Hellenistic figure of a mourning siren thought to represent a fragment of a larger funerary architectural element. This figure, measuring 7.3 x 7.1 x 4.9 cm, was carved from limestone and painted in color, the pigments of which are still traceable via various forms of technical analysis. Scanned and processed by Yale Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage Digital Imaging Specialist Chelsea Alene Graham and Yale University Art Gallery Conservation Assistant III Andrés Garcés using Artec Space Spider and Artec Studio Professional in 2018.
