A secret hero: Systemic use of Procaine
Description
Procaine, a pharmacological agent with a longstanding history, remains significantly underappreciated in contemporary medical practice. This report posits that procaine's potential as a synergistic booster could significantly reduce the required dosages of potent medications, notably opioids and benzodiazepines, thereby potentially mitigating their adverse effects. Given the escalating concerns regarding opioid and benzodiazepine use, a reevaluation of procaine's clinical utility and its integration in therapeutic protocols is imperative. This paper calls for renewed research and clinical attention to reassess and potentially revitalize the application of this historically pivotal medication.
