Description
Key to Ecliptopera pryeri, Ecliptopera silaceata leuca and Ecliptopera capitata capitulata by appearance
1. Forewing with white postmedial line ahead of the vein M3 straight, subterminal white line between the apex and vein M2 almost smooth or with only weakly marked tubercles on veins R5 and M1.......................... E. pryeri (Fig. 41).
- Forewing with white postmedial line ahead of the vein M3 gently arched, if almost straight then slightly S-shaped with the costal end excurved, subterminal white line between the apex and vein M2 with distinct teeth on the veins R5 and M1.... 2.
2. Dorsum of head, thorax and abdomen intensely brown-yellow; forewing without dark triangular spots in outer field behind vein M2; hindwing with submarginal wavy line distinct.................................. E. capitata capitulata (Fig. 40).
- Dorsum of head and thorax grey-yellow, not bright, on abdomen only longitudinal dorsal line of the same colour; forewing with dark triangular spots, at least rudimentary, in outer field behind vein M2; hindwing with submarginal wavy line weak or almost indistinguishable................................................................ E. silaceata leuca (Fig. 42).
