Distribution: Eastern Pacific Ocean; from Bahía Magdalena and the Gulf of California, Mexico, to northern Peru, including the Revillagigedo and Cocos islands; entering estuaries and littoral lagoons and ascending river courses; (Nicaragua) PN (Pacific); 0–5 masl; Per, Dia, Amp. Occurrence and conservation status: Nat; LC (2010), population trend stable. Literature: Robertson & Allen (2015: 1994; detailed description, including illustrations, and information on distribution, with a map, and ecology) and Angulo (2021: 37; listed, including information on distribution).
