Dohrniphora utriensis Brown & Kung

Dohrniphora utriensis Brown & Kung, 2007: 185–186, figs. 117–118.

Species recognition. This species is most easily separated from others with a spinuli-filled concavity by the dark short, somewhat inflated palpus, the brown halter, and the relatively large, rounded basal area of white membrane (Figs 153–154, 290). It was originally described from a specimen with one hind tibial seta, but many more specimens lack such setae.

Distribution. Costa Rica to Colombia.

Material examined. 7♂ specimens from the following localities: BRAZIL: Amazonas: Manaus (INPA, LACM). COLOMBIA: Chocó: PNN Utría (LACM, IAVH). COSTA RICA: Heredia: La Selva Biological Station (INBC, LACM).
