Description

A section of London's Roman Wall hidden in the trench to the south side of Postman's Park, St Martin's-le-Grand. The wall is directly below the fence behind the flower beds and runs from the south east end of the fence to about two thirds of the length to the west. The wall would have been part of the west side of London's defensive wall on the section where it runs from east to west from the bottom corner of the Cripplegate Fort. The wall continues down another few feet below the level of the grating shown in this model. The wall is not visible from a public location and not open to the public. Photography kindly allowed by the Building Manager at 1 St Martin's-le-Grand and access and assistance kindly provided by Buckingham Mundy-Castle. 1190 photos taken in September 2020 with a Sony a6000 and processed in Reality Capture.
