This is a [glazed](http://vocab.getty.edu/page/aat/300053914) [oil-lamp](http://vocab.getty.edu/page/aat/300037630) with a strap handle. The rim is curved inwards to form a lip. It dates from the [15th century AD](http://n2t.net/ark:/99152/p08m57h8zmq).
