Stamped Jar, Calatrava La Vieja, Spain
Description
Stamped jar fragment from Calatrava la Vieja, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. Islamic almohad period (1195-1212 CE). This artifact was found in the 2008 excavations in the south-east sector of the medina, next to the western wall of the alcázar. As usual during the almohad period in al-Andalus for these kind of vessels, this container was decorated with printed stamps, in this case with epigraphic motifs. Catalog No. 08 26 783 97. Processed and modeled from 343 photos.
