Valley of the Kings Tombs – Luxor, Egypt
Description
The Valley of the Kings is a valley west of modern Luxor (ancient Thebes) in Egypt where, for nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, tombs were excavated for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. This valley held the burial for some of the most well-known pharaohs in history, including Thutmose III, Ramesses II (The Great), and Tutankhamun. -Nate Loper
