Pancake Ridge 10 (Sept 2012)

Prehistoric carving sitting on Pancake Ridge on Rombalds Moor, West Yorkshire, England. This stone is referenced 'IAG 329' in Boughey & Vickerman's 2003 publication 'Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding', where it's described: 'Slightly sloping, flat, medium sized smooth grit rock split in two. W portion has five cups and two straight grooves. E portion has one cup.' The CSI: Rombalds Moor project referenced the stone 'Pancake Ridge 10' on ERA noting similar motifs. Moss covered some of the motifs during photographic recording. Could the single cup on the eastern stone have a ring, or did the carver utilise rock topography and certain light direction to create one?
