JUSTNORTH EU Integrated Arctic Policy Analysis Report and Recommendations. Key Challenge 5: Land Transport and Connectivity

Key Recommendations:

(R1) Deploy EU regional policies to ensure a more even development of transport systems and opportunities within Arctic countries and within the Arctic regions

(R2) Ensure that EU transport policy do not overlook the continued promotion of public transport in favour of an agenda solely focused on the electrification of private transport

(R3) Promote a standardisation of electric vehicles charging stations and of railway gauge systems across the EU

(R4) Consider to a greater extent the particular circumstances and needs of northern sparsely populated and remote regions and islands in the development and funding of new green transport options
