Description

Batteries play a key role in decarbonization of air transport as they offer highest energy efficiency with Li-ion staying the dominant technology in mobility  applications by 2030.

Structural batteries, i.e. multifunctional energy storage, while still at low TRL, have the potential to overcome the limiting weight penalty of monofunctional batteries. The CS2 project SOLIFLY develops structural batteries specifically for aeronautics, facturing in aerospace specific technological, industrial and certification requirements.
