THE FUTURE OF FAIRNESS: AI'S IMPACT ON CORRUPTION
Description
This is a presentation given at the University of Salerno on November 24, 2023. It aimed at disseminating the insights developed by Dr. Costantino Grasso, Associate Professor at Manchester Law School, in relation to the potential impact on corruption of the introduction of artificial intelligence-based technologies. This moment of reflection arises from a series of studies conducted in the field of economic crime and anti-corruption efforts in recent years. Some of these studies have specifically analyzed the interactions between new technologies and economic crime. Dr. Grasso has previously addressed these topics in various research activities, including the international conference "Economic Crime in the Age of Technology (ECAT): Potential Impact and Implications." This conference was a hybrid event, featuring both in-person and online components, dedicated to exploring the still untapped potential of utilizing technological advancements to combat economic crime. Its primary goal is to foster a deeper understanding of how emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and machine learning, can effectively address economic crimes across different sectors. The international conference took place on July 5th, 2023, and the video recordings are accessible at the following link: https://www.corporatecrime.co.uk/economic-crime-and-technology.
