OS IMPACTOS PSICOLÓGICOS EM MULHERES COM VAGINISMO

Resumo – O vaginismo é uma disfunção sexual, causada principalmente por fatores psicológicos, que bloqueia o canal vaginal da mulher durante a tentativa de penetração, causando dores e desconfortos na região pélvica. Com o objetivo de investigar o papel da psicologia diante do tratamento de mulheres com vaginismo, o referido estudo procura trazer os impactos do transtorno no cotidiano feminino, instigar o olhar psicológico para intervenções humanizadas e conscientizar a relevância do tema pouco debatido no âmbito científico. Para tanto, delimitou-se uma revisão bibliográfica, que permitiu uma melhor compreensão das possibilidades de tratamentos incluindo a psicoterapia.

Abstract – Vaginismus is a sexual dysfunction that blocks a woman's vaginal canal during attempted penetration, causing pain and discomfort in the pelvic region. With the aim of investigating the role of psychology in the treatment of women with vaginismus, the aforementioned study seeks to highlight the impacts of the disorder on women's daily lives, instigate a psychological perspective towards humanized interventions and raise awareness of the relevance of this topic that is little debated in the scientific field. To this end, a bibliographical review was delimited, which allowed a better understanding of the possibilities of treatments including psychotherapy.
