New media arts have been gaining space in the artistic world and being used in urban art, so it is necessary to understand how the academic world is approaching this type of manifestation. That's why, the integrative literature review presented in this article was developed with the aim of providing an overview and analyzing scientific production on new media arts produced for public open spaces. The research was conducted on articles published in the Web of Science and SCOPUS databases, through the intersection of keywords that encompass public open spaces and new media arts. The screening of articles resulted in the reading of 74 articles, which were grouped into several categories: sound art, artivism, urban screens, sound walks, locative media and augmented reality, different temporalities, interactivity and participation, robotics and quantitative studies. It was noted that different areas of knowledge were interested in the topic, the use of different artistic formats for urban intervention, the dynamism of the field that accompanies technological innovations and that in different ways the public sphere is affected by the productions analyzed.
