Description
Protonemura bacurianica Zhiltzova, 1957
Material examined. 3 Ô, 3 ♀, Iraq, Kurdistan Region, Erbil, Choman, 2.5 km North Nawanda Village, 36°41’40.92’’N, 44°53’28.68’’E, Alt. 1935 m a.s.l. 17.V.2022, leg. Farhad A. Khudhur.
Body colour ranges from light brown to brown (Figure 3a). The inner lobe of the paraproct is much longer than the middle lobe (Figure 3b). The species is widespread in West Asia (Mohammadian 2008; Teslenko & Zhiltzova, 2009; Darilmaz, Salur, Murányi, and Vinçon 2016, Cherchesova, Shapovalov, Mamaev, & Palatov 2023; Murányi, Manko, Kováks, Vinçon, & Žiak 2023). It emerges during late spring and summer from streams 900 to 1200 m asl (Cherchesova, Shapovalov, Mamaev, & Palatov 2023; Murányi, Manko, Kováks, Vinçon, & Žiak 2023).
