Hydraena appalachicola Perkins 1980: 83
The new records below document new localities and a new depository for identified specimens of this rarely collected species. The total number of specimens in collections is raised from six to 16. The species is presently known from the Appalachian Mountains in the states of Virginia and New York.
New records: U.S.A.: Virginia, Alleghany Co., Ogle Creek, near Rt. 661, just south of Rt. 600 intersection with Rt. 661, (37°49’45.3’’N, 80°7’3.6’’W), 22.v.2007, leg. D. Kirk & F. Huber (35) (1 MCZ); Botetourt Co., Small stream (unnamed tributary to Patterson Creek) along the O-I Road (Forest Service Rt. 5020), (37°38’56.7’’N, 79°52’57.1’’W), 4.v.2007, leg. F. Huber (17) (1 MCZ); Craig Co., Unnamed tributary to Johns Creek. Below culvert crossing Forest Service Rt. 5048 (Larkin Line Rd.), (37°24’59’’N, 80°21’38’’W), 31.vii.2007, leg. F. Huber, M.
