Sectiliclava pulchriceps Noyes & Hanson

Sectiliclava pulchriceps Noyes & Hanson, 1996:121-122. Holotype E, Costa Rica, NHMUK, examined.

DIAGNOSIS. Female (length about 1.0- 1.3mm): frontovertex coppery with contrasting bright metallic green or blue piliferous punctures that are completely smooth and shiny and generally slightly smaller than diameter of ocellus; lower face (Fig. 1459) with setae about as dense as those on frontovertex; thorax generally dark brown to black with a metallic sheen; hind femur brown; all tibiae yellow to pale orange; funicle segments quadrate or transverse; apex of mandible oblique with 4 short teeth; mesoscutum relatively dull with piliferous punctures shallow and indistinct, setae silvery and fairly conspicuous, sculpture polygonally reticulate and a little shallower and finer than on frontovertex; scutellum with relatively deep, slightly elongate, polygonally reticulate sculpture; fore leg with apical tarsomere (Fig. 1454) about as long as four basal tarsomeres; hind leg with apical tarsomere about as long as three basal tarsomeres; fore wing (Fig. 1458, 1457) with postmarginal vein not reaching wing margin; hypopygium Fig. 1453; ovipositor Fig. 1455. Male: unknown.

DISTRIBUTION. Trinidad & Tobago, Costa Rica.

HOSTS. Unknown.

MATERIAL EXAMINED.

Type material. Holotype E: COSTA RICA, Guanacaste, Barra Honda NP, 150m, v.1988 (I.D. Gauld). Paratypes: TRINIDAD & TOBAGO, 1E, Trinidad, St. George, St. Augustine, wasteground, 16.vi.1976 (J.S. Noyes). Holotype and paratype in NHMUK.

Non type material. COSTA RICA, 1E, Guanacaste, PN Palo Verde, Camino a OET, LN 260952 385020, 0-50m, #56550, 7-17.vi.2000 (I. Jiménez); 1E, Guanacaste, PN Palo Verde, Sect. Catalina, LN 388500 257300, #64148, 9.v-7.vi.2001 (I. Jiménez). Material in MZUCR and NHMUK.

COMMENTS. One recently collected specimen of pulchriceps differs from the holotype in having the antenna, fore coxae and fore and mid femora yellow. It otherwise agrees well and is therefore included here.
