- 1. Minutes of the previous meeting. President Johnson asked if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes of the 1998 annual business meeting as published in the March 1999 issue of the Coleopterists Bulletin. There were no additions or corrections, and the minutes were accepted as published.
- Johnson reported on the beetle symposia to be given at the International Congress of Entomology in Brazil in August 2000: Chrysomelidae organized by Furth; Curculionidae organized by Anderson; Scarabaeidae organized by Ratcliffe, and Amazon insects organized by Adis and Erwin.
- 3. Necrology. President Johnson reported the deaths of the following coleopterists during 1999: Ross Arnett, Jr. (founder of the Coleopterists Society), Sebastian Endrody-Younga, Roy Crowson, Ed Giesbert, Robert Potts, and Takehiro Nakane.
- 6. Editor's Report. Editor Chris Carlton presented a brief report inasmuch as he has been on the job only a short time. He stated the transition from Clark was smooth, made an appeal for potential reviewers of papers to let him know their interests, and indicated the December issue of the Bulletin should be in the mail at any moment. There were 80 papers submitted in 1999, the most since 1994.
