Organizational review of 2i2c: Opportunities and challenges for our structure and operations

This is an organizational audit and review of 2i2c conducted by Davina Sirisena at Difference Digital. Davina performed this work in August and September 2023 at the request of 2i2c's Executive Director, Chris Holdgraf.

The goal of this project was to identify sources of stress and inefficiency, as well as opportunity for growth, within 2i2c's organizational structure, strategy, and operations. The project began due to "growing pains" that 2i2c had experienced after 2.5 years of successful operation, and the realization that 2i2c's team needed professional assistance in diagnosing challenges and recommending improvements to make for the next phase of 2i2c's operations.

This report is a diagnosis of 2i2c's major strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and struggles. We share it publicly because we believe in a culture of continuous learning, and feeling safe in reporting where we we are struggling. We've also benefitted from the "open documentation" of many other organizations, and hope that this may serve as a resource for other mission-driven and non-profit organizations similar to 2i2c.
