Cardiometabolic and renal phenotypes and transitions in the United States population

Description

This repository contains code and data used to generate the results of the publication "Cardiometabolic and renal phenotypes and transitions in the United States population".

Codes are provided for transparency and in the spirit of scientific collaboration. 
We will not be able to answer questions about the details of these codes.

Contents Guide

The Data folder contains:  

  • "NHANES_cleaned_single.RDS": Data after merging all rounds from NHANES III to NHANES 2017-2018. All preprocessing steps described in the paper other than the mahalanobis outliers detection have been applied. Original NHANES data ca be downloaded at https://wwwn.cdc.gov/nchs/nhanes/Default.aspx  
  •  "US_census_2020_formated.xlsx": US Population per age group in 202 from https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/decennial-census/decade/2020/2020-census-results.html

The Scripts folder contains: 

  • A model folder with the scripts to create the clustering results and other needed inputs for the figures.
  • A figures folder with the scripts used to produce figures.  
  • A utils folder with scripts used to generate the aesthetics of some figures.

All scripts should be run using R version 4.0.3 to ensure consistency with the results presented in the paper.
