Evaluation of Open Science practices: main challenges and future avenues to develop a cost-benefit analysis framework

Description

CSIL researchers presented the Cost-Benefit Analysis framework developed to assess the economic impact of Open Science (OS) practices, a component of the Horizon Europe project PathOS, at the Fourth European Conference of the Society for Benefit-Cost Analysis. The event was held at the University of Milan on 11 and 12 September 2023 and attracted over 150 participants from 30 diverse countries, offering a platform for the exchange of insights among experts from different fields. The framework presented by CSIL furnishes a structured approach for evaluating the direct economic impacts of OS practices and also provides a rigorous classification of the direct impacts to avoid double-counting errors.
