The functional substitution approach as a tool to build a database of alternatives to PFAS

The goal of this study is to build a database of alternatives to PFAS based on the functional substitution approach in order to identify the technical functions, end use functions and services provided by PFAS in each of their uses. The aim of the database is for the user to understand the reason why PFAS are used in certain consumer/industrial applications, and to determine whether alternatives are available.

The poster has been presented during the 2023 Association for the Advancement of Alternatives Assessment (A4) International Symposium, from October 24th to October 26th.
