Therapy of rare diseases at the intersection of culture, regulation, and clinical practice in Europe and the United States

Letter to the medical community: My preparations for a new professional position with an international network practice taught me the existence of unfavorable constraints for physicians in the Anglo-Saxon world, notably the United States where "therapeutic freedom" is lacking. This has to change as it drastically reduces treatment options in the context of rare diseases.
