The be-READY Workshop - REsilient roAD pavements for sustainabilitY - aimed to join a task force composed of researchers from the institutions involved in this proposal, i.e., Lusófona University (PT), Oslo Metropolitan University (NO), National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (PT), Instituto Superior Técnico (PT), Viken County (NO), Infraestruturas de Portugal (PT), JJR Group (PT), and a group of professionals from both countries to sit together to discuss the different topics related with pavement sustainability and resilience, taking into consideration the good practices and experience of both countries. To achieve these objectives, a 5-day workshop was organized into two types of sessions: a 3-day open session with in-person and online attendance and participation and a 2-day closed session to discuss the main conclusions and organize the following events.

The 3-days open session was organized in 6 sessions with 6 topics: (i) pavement technologies; (ii) road long-term performance; (iii) Pavement Management; (iv) Climate Change and Resilience (v) Green Public Procurement – Policies; and (iv) Project session. In each session, specialists from both countries shared their experiences and knowledge, as well as the main challenges and concerns the pavement industry will face in the short- and long-term.
