Description

Summary

This case study is part of a series shining a light on the experiences of immunization and primary healthcare staff working at different levels of national immunization programmes in low- and middle-income countries. The people featured are all taking part in Movement for Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) peer learning activities organized by the Geneva Learning Foundation (TGLF). Through the Movement, health workers share ideas and experience and support each other as they attempt to solve local challenges and contribute to the goals of IA2030, the global immunization strategy.

Each case study forms part of the IA2030 Movement’s Knowledge-to-Action Hub, designed to promote the application of knowledge shared by Movement members. Learn more about the Hub… Learn more about the Movement

Background

Three remote rural settlements in Ndokwa-West Local Government Area in Delta State were not being included in local service planning and were therefore missing out on immunization services. As part of a TGLF Movement for IA2030 project, Fanny Ogwu has built bridges between the communities and health services – ensuring there is community demand for immunization and that service providers are able to meet that demand.
