MODELING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE: CREATING A STARCH MODEL FOR MOLECULAR DYNAMICS.

Petroleum-based polymers offer strength and durability, but lack biodegradability, which poses environmental concerns. In contrast, starch-based biopolymers are environmentally friendly, versatile and biodegradable. Our research focuses on building an atomistic model for starch, employing  amylose and amylopectin chains under different conditions.To validate our atomic model, mechanical properties are predicted and compared with experimental data.
