Capitalismo y reificación, un acercamiento a la perspectiva de Theodor W. Adorno

Description

Based on three passages of Theodor W. Adorno's Negative Dialectics, the article pursues to clarify a point of access to the adornian critique of capitalism outlined in his later work. The paper is divided in three sections. The first section retrieves the basic elements underlying the notion reification and summarizes its general influence on Dialectic of Enlightenment. The second section undertakes the reconstruction of Adorno’s critique based in his appraisal that the assumptions within the notion of reification regarding the exchange principle and the critical procedure entail a presupposed return to an original state of social reconciliation. The third section presents Adorno’s position concerning the distinction between social objectivity and reification in order to avoid suggesting a false priority of the subject. Finally, the conclusive note recuperates Adorno’s reasoning as a whole, in furtherance to suggest the basis of his critical access to capitalism.
