Single-segmented galea of Cyphocoleus and other Homethina lies laterad the lacinia, with a rabbeted groove on the dorsomedial surface of the galea accommodating the lateral margin of the lacinia, thereby supporting lacinia during alternating, rotary movements of the maxillae.
