L'or monnayé romain de la République à l'Antiquité tardive : une vision globale
Description
This contribution presents a general overview of Roman gold coinage, from its beginnings during the Second Punic War (218‒201 BC) down to Late Antiquity. It discusses economic, political and artistic aspects of the production of the aureus, the solidus and their related denominations, and contextualises the phenomenon of Roman gold coins both diachronically and in a world historical perspective.
