Type locality: Hulhule Island & Minikoy Island, Laccadive Sea.
Synonyms: Elasmopus latibrachium Walker, 1905; Maera latibrachium Walker, 1905.
Distribution. World: Minicoy Island, Lakshadweep, India (Walker 1905).
India: Western India Ecoregion: Arabian Sea (Surya Rao 1972 as Maera latibrachium Walker, 1905);
South India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Sivaprakasam 1968a as Maera latibrachium Walker, 1905); Maldives Ecoregion: Lakshadweep (Walker 1905); Northern Bay of Bengal Ecoregion: Bay of Bengal (Surya Rao 1972 as Maera latibrachium Walker, 1905).
