Type locality: Abd-el-Kuri.
Synonyms: Atylopsis latipalpus Walker & Scott, 1903; Pontogeneia barnardi (Rabindranath, 1972).
Distribution. World: Abd-el-Kuri (Walker & Scott 1903), India (Sivaprakasam 1966).
India: South India Ecoregion: Kerala (Rabindranath 1972c as Pontogeneia barnardi (Rabindranath 1972)); Tamil Nadu (Sivaprakasam 1966 as Atylopsis latipalpus Walker & Scott, 1903; Rabindranath 1972c as Pontogeneia barnardi (Rabindranath, 1972)); Northern Bay of Bengal: Bay of Bengal (Surya Rao 1972 as Atylopsis latipalpus Walker & Scott, 1903).
