Type locality: Kattegat.

Synonyms: Cheirocratus drechselii Meinert, 1890

Distribution. World: Kattegat (Hoek 1889), North Atlantic Ocean (Bellan-Santini & Costello 2001), Belgium (Cattrijsse & Vincx 2001), Grevelingen (Faasse & Stikvoort 2002), Bay of Biscay (Bachelet et al. 2003), Ireland (Guiry & Guiry 2011), India (Pillai 1957).

India: Western India Ecoregion: Gujarat (Srinivas et al. 2020); South India Ecoregion: Kerala (Pillai 1957); Tamil Nadu (Nayar 1966); Eastern India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Nayar 1959; Venkataraman 2007).
