Distribution. World: Scotland (Spence Bate & Westwood 1862), North Atlantic Ocean (Bellan-Santini & Costello 2001), Bay of Biscay (Bachelet et al. 2003), Gulf of Mexico (Felder & Camp 2009), Caribbean Sea (Miloslavich et al. 2010), Mediterranean Sea (Koukouras 2010), India (George 1958).

India: Western India Ecoregion: Kerala (George 1958; Dev Roy et al. 2009); Arabian Sea (Surya Rao 1972);

South India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Nayar 1966; Sivaprakasam 1969b); Eastern India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Nayar 1959; Venkataraman 2007); Odisha (Chilton 1921); Northern Bay of Bengal: Bay of Bengal (Surya Rao 1972).
