Type locality: off St Vincent, Cape Verde Islands, North Atlantic Ocean.

Synonyms: Amphipronoe longicornuta Giles, 1888

Distribution. World: North Atlantic Ocean (Stebbing 1888), Gulf of Mexico (Felder & Camp 2009), India (Pillai 1965b).

India: Northern Bay of Bengal Ecoregion: Bay of Bengal (Giles 1888 as Amphipronoe longicornuta Giles, 1888).

Genus: Simorhynchotus Stebbing, 1888
