Type locality: Gambier Islands, South Australia.

Distribution. World: Australia (Chevreux 1907), India (Sivaprakasam 1966).

India: South India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Sivaprakasam 1966; Sivaprakasam 1968a); Northern Bay of Bengal Ecoregion: Bay of Bengal (Surya Rao 1972).
