Type locality: South Atlantic Ocean.

Synonyms: Rhabdocheirus incertus Bonnier, 1898; Vibilia erratica Chevreux, 1892; Vibilia gracilenta Bovallius, 1887; Vibilia gracilis Bovallius, 1887.

Distribution. World: South Atlantic Ocean (Bovallius 1887), North Atlantic Ocean (Bellan-Santini & Costello 2001), Bay of Biscay (Bachelet et al. 2003), Mediterranean Sea (Koukouras 2010), New Zealand (Webber et al. 2010), Ireland (Guiry & Guiry 2011), India (Pillai 1965b).

India: Western India Ecoregion: Maharashtra (Pillai 1965b); Goa (Pillai 1965b); Karnataka (Pillai 1965b); Kerala (Pillai 1965b); South India Ecoregion: Kerala (Pillai 1965b); Tamil Nadu (Pillai 1965b); Maldives Ecoregion: Lakshadweep (Pillai 1965b).
