56. Ampelisca brevicornis (Costa, 1853)

Type locality: Naples.

Synonyms: Ampelisca bellianus Spence Bate, 1856; Ampelisca laevigata Liljeborg, 1856; Araneops brevicornis Costa, 1853; Tetromatus bellianus Spence Bate, 1856.

Distribution. World: Naples (Costa 1853), South Africa (Griffiths 1974), North Atlantic Ocean (Bellan-Santini & Costello 2001), Bay of Biscay (Bachelet et al. 2003), Mediterranean Sea (Koukouras 2010), India (Rabindranath 1975).

India: South India Ecoregion: Kerala (Rabindranath 1975); Eastern India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Raja et al. 2013; Khan et al. 2017).

Remarks: Report from India requires confirmation.
