Type locality: Trondheim fjord. Norway.

Synonyms: Orchomene obtusa (G.O. Sars, 1891); Orchomene obtusus (G.O. Sars, 1891); Orchomenella (Orchomenopsis) obtusa (G.O. Sars, 1891); Orchomenella affinis Holmes, 1908; Orchomenopsis obtusa G.O. Sars, 1891.

Distribution. World: Norway (Sars 1891), Canada (Shih et al. 1971), North Atlantic Ocean, North Pacific Ocean (Bellan-Santini & Costello 2001), India (Sivaprakasam 1966).

India: South India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Sivaprakasam 1966 as Orchomenella affinis Holmes, 1908).
