Type locality: Gulf of Naples.

Synonyms: Egidia pulchella Costa, 1853.

Distribution. World: Gulf of Naples (Costa 1853), South Africa (Barnard 1955), France (Dauvin 1999), North Atlantic Ocean (Bellan-Santini & Costello 2001), Bay of Biscay (Bachelet et al. 2003), Ireland (Guiry & Guiry 2011), India (Rabindranath 1971b).

India: South India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Thilagavathi et al. 2013); Eastern India Ecoregion: Tamil Nadu (Thilagavathi et al. 2013).
