Description

Bipalium rhytidoantrum Solà & Sluys, sp. nov.

Synonyms: Diversibipalium sp. Nagasaki-4 Yamamoto et al., 2001

Material: Holotype, RMNH.VER.20257.1 (field number KSL2401), Takaki-chō (nowadays part of the city of Isahaya), Kitatakaki-gun, Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyūshū, Japan, 7 November 2004, coll. Mr. Kiyohiko Yamamoto, two parts sectioned at intervals of 8 μm, comprising 22 slides in total: sagittal sections of the anterior part on 11 slides; sagittal sections of the posterior part containing the pharynx and the copulatory apparatus on 11 slides. A prepharyngeal piece of about 1 mm was cut from the posterior part for molecular analyses.
