Description

Fig. 7. ALA feeding assay of acyltransferases in S. cerevisiae strain, QM. TLC of neutral lipid fraction from cells expressing ShPDAT1 (a) and ShDGAT2-1 (b), fed with increasing concentration of ALA (100, 300 and 600 μM). ShDGAT1 (c) and empty pYES2 control fed with 100 μM of ALA. The TAG content in total lipid was quantified by using ImageJ software, and represented as % of total lipid. The bands corresponding to TAG were scraped from TLC and fatty acid profile was analyzed by GC-MS [ShPDAT1 (d), ShDGAT2-1 (e) and ShDGAT1 (f)]. Values shown are mean of biological triplicates, mean ± SD. 18:3 TAG- Trilinolenin standard, FFA- Free fatty acids, DAG – Diacylglycerol, SFA- C16:0, C18:0; MUFA- C16:1, C18:1; Standard – 18:3 TAG.
