This article shares the experience of a course and an extension project proposed by a Master's program at the State University of Bahia (UNEB), Brazil, carried out through a research and exchange program between Brazil and Italy. In continuous interaction of the internationalization, extension and contextualized education dimensions, the course and the project are developed with the participation of UNEB students, exchange students from Italy and people who live and/or operate in marginal social contexts, with women in prostitution, adolescents in conflict with the law, minors victims of mistreatment and abuse, people with psychological problems, elderly people in conditions of abandonment and exceptional people. The two actions provide interaction and protagonism of those involved in a continuous alternation of theory and practice, university and community, learning and solidary service. The intention is to promote a university linked to the challenges of contemporary society, with a view to a dialogical relationship of mutual learning and co-construction of an educational process for current generations, in favor of a pro-social and planetary citizenship.
