Identification, characterization and expression analysis of circRNA encoded by SARS-Cov-1 and SARS-Cov-2

Based on RNA-seq data from viral infections, we used existing circRNA identification tools to identify circRNAs encoded by SARS-CoV-1/2. Based on the thousands of virus circRNAs we identified, we conducted homology analysis of SARS-CoV-1/2, analysis of positive and negative chain expression bias and genomic position expression levels. Based on the high reliability of SARS-CoV-1/2, we carried out circRNA identification and feature analysis. Then, target gene prediction and functional enrichment analysis of the circRNA recognized by coronaviruses were carried out. It was found that its pathway has a strong correlation with viruses and cancer, and the biological characteristics of viral circRNA and its potential role in regulating host cell function were determined. This study reveals the viral circRNAs of SARS-CoV-1/2, two deadly coronaviruses, and provides valuable resources for further research on the function and molecular mechanism of coronavirus circRNAs.
