DMPTool: Building a scalable data management infrastructure for strategic institutional coordination IMLS NLG Proposal- California Digital Library, Association of Research Libraries

  • 1. California Digital Library
  • 2. Association of Research Libraries

Description

The California Digital Library and the Association of Research Libraries will partner to enhance digital research data management infrastructures and services. The project addresses the urgent needs of academic and research libraries of varying sizes and budgets to respond to increasing requirements to share federally funded research data. By linking technical development with stakeholder engagement and coordination, the project team will focus on enhancing the DMPTool and persistent identifier registries to meet evolving funding agency requirements for machine-actionable data management plans (maDMPs). maDMPs will allow for a simplified approach to track information about research project outputs from inception through publication and the sharing of results. The project will support strategic planning for libraries as they implement these policies, workflows, and technical solutions to build local capacity for effective data management, publication, and reuse.
