МЕТАФОРА ЯК ОБ'ЄКТ НАУКОВИХ СТУДІЙ

The analysis of the metaphor formation has been increasingly attracting the attention of the scientists for not only its place in the literature and linguistics, but for its place as a source of secondary names formation, which arises based on association and new nomination formation for the words that need them, and as a linguistics phenomenon, which reflects the national language picture. The study of the metaphor theory is a current issue and in some aspects it is a topic of discussion related to not only linguistics, but also to psychology, philosophy, and sociology. The goal of the article is to analyze the main theories of the metaphor function and classification, reveal the views on the specifics of its formation in the work of local and international scientists. The aspects which influence the formation of metaphor concepts are distinguished. The main trends of metaphor research are described. It is determined that provided concepts do not negate each other, they complement each other and expand the boundaries of metaphor research. The metaphor is a phenomena with many aspects which are both individual and communal. It arises as a result of the cognitive process and is formed via rethinking of the already existing denotation into the new derivative based on anthropocentrism, emotion or connotation.
